New FriendsMeet my new found friends! All of us stayed at Tabicolle Backpackers in Fukuoka. I stayed here (October 5, 2010) before I left for Turkey the following day. If you visit Fukuoka, make this your home. Shinya, my new friend, runs this place along with his buddy. (In the photo) Kate from the US, Reynaldo from The Netherlands (with Indonesian ancestry), and Shinya's friend Zuki. Snapshots of Izmir, Former Smyrna.
Izmir is in the west part of Turkey, by the Aegean Coast. It is the third largest city. It is the sister city of Cebu (see related article: http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleid=611337). The place is formerly known as Smyrna. Archaelogical finds suggest that Izmir is 8,500 years old.
Symbol of IzmirThe landmark of Izmir, the clock tower, is located at Konak Square. This was built in 1901 by a French architect. Konak Square is comparable to our Luneta park.

Ephesus: Center of Civilizations during the Roman Empire
(entrance is 20 Turkish Lira)
This is the government agora. This is a place where business and government undertakings were done during the period.
House of MaryThis is where Mother Mary spent her last years. St. John brought Mama Mary here. This is in Mt. Bulbul, a few kilometers away from the Ephesus civilization. A German nun discovered this place through her dream. St. John decided to bring Mama Mary here because it was safer than in Jerusalem (where Christians are persecuted). When I went inside, the feeling was so different, a feeling of peace! I also prayed...for myself, my family, and all of YOU my FRIENDS..OUR wishes will come true! SO in TURKEY, I ATE, I PRAYED! Love?
